First About Me:
When Brian and I had Jamie and moved across the country so Brian could attend law school, we made the decision that I would stay at home with Jamie. Brian wasn’t going to be working while in school so we planned on solely living off student loans. That was until I read a post from Rosemarie of The Busy Budgeter titled “How I Made $12,484.68 in One Month as a Stay At Home Mom“. And my mind was blown!
She talked about how she made this money at home blogging! It was only a few months later, after planning everything out that I took the plunge and started my own blog! While I may not be where Rosemarie is (or was, she is now making over $100k a month! Crazy right?), I can see my numbers consistently growing every month! It’s just crazy guys!
The money has been great for my little family but I never realized how much I would love blogging! I have found a passion for something I never thought could be in my future. I always thought to be a successful blogger you had to be beautiful, wealthy, and live in New York. That is not the case! Rosemarie made me realize you don’t have to be anyone special to be a successful blogger! I am definitely not someone special. I don’t have a degree and I’m not crazy smart, I even have an app that checks my grammar and spelling because I suck at it so bad. Thank goodness for Grammarly!
However, I am a young mom with a drive to be successful! After having Jamie, I struggled with some serious baby blues. And it took a long time for me to figure out my life in motherhood. Once I did, I really wanted to help other young moms not fall into an identity slump like I did! So I started blogging about money saving DIYs. Which turned into a blog completely for young moms full of beauty tutorials, those awesome DIY projects, money saving and budgeting tips, and how to be their own lady bosses and work at home like I do!
Seriously, If I can do it, you can too! If this sound like something you want to do, you can get the free steps to starting your own profitable blog here, and start blogging for as low as $3.95 a month! That’s less than the price of a Starbucks drink!
On to June’s Income report!
In June I made $234.63 as a stay at home mom without a degree!
While that may not seem like much, that number is double what I made the month before. And is consistently growing month by month! What would an extra $234 a month do for your family?
June Break Down:
-Etsy Products: $29.79
For my family, this money gives us that peace of mind that our decision to keep me at home with our son was the right one.
I made most of my money in June through affiliate income. An affiliate is a company that gives you a commission on products purchased through your site at no extra cost to the customer! For example, if someone purchases a hair lightener I recommend through a link on my site, I make a commission on that sale and it costs my reader nothing extra! By the way, I only recommend things I use and love!
On my blog, I have a lot of tutorials so I decided in January to start an Etsy shop for those who would rather just buy rather than DIY. There I sell baby bibs and home decor digital prints. I offer a lot of these digital prints as freebies on Life on Waller but I have more options on my Etsy shop.
p.s. If you are good at creating images, selling digital prints on Etsy is the bomb! You don’t have to ship anything and it can be sold to an unlimited number of people because it isn’t a physical product! Easiest income over!
I use Google Adsense for the ads on my site. When you place ads on your site, you get paid per person that views them every day. So more readers to your site means more income for you! My blog has been consistently growing in pageviews every month so each month is getting better and better for ad revenue!
This June was crazy! After taking May off, it was a struggle to get back on top of everything. I am also making my way through a blogging course called Elite Blog Academy which is awesome but is going to take me months to complete! It’s awesome jam-packed with tons of info!
Like I mentioned in the beginning of this post LOW is taking a shift. When I started blogging, I blogged DIY projects with a few other things here and there. But wasn’t writing everything I wanted to. So the shift to blogging solutions for young moms made so much sense for me. Which is also why LOW has looked a little different lately!
Because of all the crazy stuff going on over here, I haven’t been focusing on my revenue at all. So I know once I get everything done and organized I will be able to give more attention to an income strategy.
So why post my income for you?
If I had never seen what kind of money could be made BY ORDINARY PEOPLE blogging, I would have never started. So I decided to show my real numbers in hopes to motivate others like Rosemarie motivated me. And show moms, especially young moms, that you can stay at home with your littles, help support your family, and be your own boss without a degree!
